فضيلة الشيخ سيف بن محمد المدفع

 

      ولد الشيخ سيف بن محمد المدفع في مدينة الشارقة عام 1306هـ / 1888م ، درس في كتاتيب الشارقة وتعلم القراءة والكتابة وحفظ القرآن الكريم والأحاديث، ذهب بعد ذلك للدراسة في الإحساء بالمنطقة الشرقية بالمملكة العربية السعودية حيث درس الفقه والبلاغة والنحو والصرف . كانت علاقته طيبه بالملك عبد العزيز بن سعود ، فقد كان الملك يبعث إليه في بعض القضايا التي تَشْكُل على قضاة وعلماء نجد. كان مجلس الشيخ سيف المدفع معروفاً في الشارقة يأتي إليه الوجهاء والعلماء والحكام، حيث تتم في هذا المجلس مناقشة القضايا الاجتماعية والسياسية التي تهم المجتمع. مارس الشيخ سيف القضاء وارتبط بعلاقات طيبة بعدد كبير من العلماء، وبعد حياة حافلة بالعطاء والخير والعلم توفي الشيخ سيف المدفع في عام 1392هـ / 1972م.

The man of letter : Ibrahim bin Mohamed Al-Medfa'

 

       The man of letter and the journalist, Ibrahim bin Mohamed Al-Medfa' was born in Sharjah in 1909, he started his study in Al Katateeb in Sharjah, when he learnt handwriting well, he became the personal writer of Sharjah ruler and his companion in his travels, he was one of the  important ministers for Sharjah ruler and his consultant of what concerning the country. He headed Sharjah Government Department as

 a supervisor  on customs and finances in 1940,  represented Sharjah ruler in the Rulers Council and Development Council which was established by the British in Trucial States. He settled peace among the tribes as well became a consultant of Sheikh  Khalid bin  Mohamed Al Qasimi and continued in this position till the beginning of the ruling of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi  when illness prevented him from doing his duty. In 1927, he published the first newspaper "Oman Newspaper" when this newspaper stopped , he published  another newspaper "Saot Al Asafeer" in 1933 and a third political one was called "the column". In 1928, he established the second library in Sharjah and called it "Al Taimiah Al Wahabiyah Library". He passed away  in 1985 and he was at that time 77 years old.
