 The 12th Qualifying Course In Library & Information Science

Juma Al Majid attended on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 the graduation ceremony of 35 trainees in The 12th Qualifying Course In Library & Information Science, which was launched on January 31.

Juma Al Majid said: “Books need supporting and preserving. We should make it available to everyone, this is everyone\'s responsibility and not only one person”. He pointed in his word to the importance of library science, that everyone need it even in his own house, so that he could arrange and cataloged his books. Juma Al Majid was pleased to see more women attending this course, because woman will offer more impact and benefits  for her family and children when she get more learning.

Mr. Imad Sabbah head of cataloguing section thanked Juma Al Majid for his support and guidance to arrange this course which continued for twelve years until now.

The Course included many important topics, such as:

• Descriptive indexing and cataloging rules.

• objectivity Indexing:

- objective analysis

- classification and Dewey Decimal Classification

• Collection Development

• Information Services

It is worth mentioning that many of the official and private entities participated in this course, including:

 Education Zone in Dubai, Sharjah Book Authority, Dubai Police, Al Qasimia University in Sharjah, Al Bayan newspaper, Al-Khaleej newspaper, The Government of Dubai Media Office, Sharjah Public Library, College of Islamic and Arabic Studies, Sharjah Centre for Documentation and Research, Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai, and Ajman University.
