 West Africa Manuscripts Conference

Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage participated in Regional Conference for the Conservation and evaluating manuscripts of West Africa which was held in Bamako, capital of Mali, from December 15 to 16, 2016, and organized by Savama and Ford Foundation Global.

The conference was attended by members of the West African countries from  Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Mauritania, Cameroon and Gambia. As well as Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage in Dubai, Centre for the Study of Manuscript Cultures from the University of Hamburg, and the National Center for Scientific Research in France.

Dr. Bassam Daghestani head of restoration department, participated in the conference with 2 worksheets, the first one about the work of conservation, remediation and restoration carried out by Juma Al Majid center, and the second worksheet about the works of Juma Al Majid Center to save Timbuktu manuscripts, which started since 1997.
