Juma Al Majid Center presents a lecture on Islamic decorative arts in the Ottoman era

Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage published a book entitled “Islamic Decorative Arts in Ottoman Europe from the Eighth Century Hijri to the End of the Thirteenth Century Hijri”. the center hosted, on its electronic platform, the author of the book, Dr. Hassan Muhammad Abdel Nour, Professor of Archeology. and the former Vice Dean of the Faculty of Archeology at Sohag University, Egypt, in a scientific discussion session, attended by a large number of those interested in the subject of the book.
The lecturer spoke in detail about several topics about the book, most notably: the geographical, historical and artistic frameworks of Ottoman Europe, illustrations of manuscripts and albums, and applied arts such as pottery, textiles, carpets, metals, weapons, jewelry, wood, glass and tombstones. He concluded the session by talking about the mutual artistic influences between Ottoman and Western Europe.
