Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage in Dubai organized a dialogue session on the occasion of the Arab Document Day, which falls on October 17 of each year. Dr. Taha Muhammad Nour Abu Al-Khair, Scientific Supervisor of Documents and Archives at Juma Al Majid Center, and Mr. Abdul Al-Jalil Ahmed Abdullah, from the Kingdom of Bahrain, is a blogger and collector of Bahraini documents.
The session began with Mr. Abdul Jalil, who presented a paper entitled “Definition of Documents during the Rule of Sheikh Isa Bin Ali Al Khalifa, Ruler of Bahrain and its Dependencies (1869-1932)”, whose reign was characterized by prosperity, growth, security and safety. Mr. Abdul Jalil presented 18 documents on various topics. Such as exchange, arrest and ownership, and revealed through those documents many aspects of politics and economics in that time period of the rule of Sheikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa.
Then Dr. Taha Muhammad talked about the concept of calibration of document and archive management systems and their importance, while presenting the challenges facing these systems in the present and future. He also talked about the components of electronic documents and electronic archiving and the difference between them. He also reviewed in his lecture the methods and methodology for building a model for calibrating document and archive management systems.
