The Eleventh International Course
In Conservation, Treatment and Restoration
Under the patronage of Juma Al Majid the Head of Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage the Eleventh International Course in keeping, processing and restoration of manuscripts and documents, was launched from 1 to March 16, 2015.
Juma Al Majid Center invited 15 trainees from 10 countries to participate in the course. They are working in the field of conservation and processing of manuscripts belonging to several parties, including:
National Archives in Abu Dhabi
Sharjah Center for Documentation and Research
Ministry of Heritage and Culture in the Sultanate of Oman
The Institute of Ahmed Baba in Timbuktu in Mali
Zagra Foundation in Granada, Spain
National University of Maulana Azad in India
Islamic University of Tashkent in Uzbekistan,
International Center of Imam Bukhari in Uzbekistan,
The Australian National University in Australia
Sheikh Musa Camara Library in Senegal
and participated trainees from Egypt and Syria.
The course focused on the manual and automatic restoration, binding, and digital preservation.
